My approach
Repointing isn't glamorous, but it's the one thing standing between your bricks and another century of London weather. I rake out failing mortar to the right depth, mix mortar to match — colour, texture and strength — and point neatly so the joints disappear into the wall. The result should look like the bricks were laid yesterday.
